Hoffman Estates, Illinois has enjoyed significant office and retail growth over the past five years. In 2007, over 500,000 square feet of office space was either under construction or completed in Prairie Stone Business Park. This was accomplished in a Chicago suburban office market that has some office vacancies at the 20% level.

Hoffman Estates encompasses about 20 square miles and is the North American or Midwest Headquarters to such corporate giants as Sears Holdings, AT&T, GE Capital Services, Siemens Medical Systems, Claire’s Accessories, Automatic Data Processing, St. Alexius Medical Center, and more. Located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, the Village has an ample, well educated, labor supply.

The community is a model for the "work-play-live" generation. It has affordable to high-end homes, over 7 square miles of open space, with numerous parks and two major forest preserves.

The ethnic mix is diverse, with 15% Asian, 10% Hispanic, and 5% African American. The community is conveniently located to major arterials. A recent trend is the emergence of an Entertainment District, offering more "play" to residents and regional consumers. The District, located just west of IL-59 (Sutton Road) and I-90, includes the Sears Centre Arena, Cabela’s (outfitter store), Prairie Creek Amphitheater (open May 2009), a proposed Sun Island Resort (water park/hotel), restaurants, and other retail entertainment.
