2nd Annual LiveXchange Exceeds All Expectations

In October, 30 top-level executives gathered at the Château Élan resort to search for the right location for their next expansion/relocation project.

Last year we launched our fledgling event, Business Facilities LiveXchange, with much success. The event was so successful, in fact, that EXPO magazine took notice and crowned LiveXchange the Best New Show for 2006 in its category. This year, LiveXchange doubled in size. On top of having more locations represented this year, there was also a larger pool of readers from companies such as Toyota, Boars Head, AAA, Schering Plough, and Flextronics, just to name a few. For the second year in a row, the event was held at the Château Élan Winery & Resort, located just 45 minutes northeast of Atlanta in Braselton, GA.

For those of you who aren’t familiar yet with our exclusive event, LiveXchange brings together our readers (delegates) and locations from across the U.S. (sponsors) for three days of productive meetings (only two days out of the office). The event is organized around carefully crafted one-on-one meetings between sponsors and delegates based on mutual preferences selected before the event. In addition to these 30-minute meetings, there is golf, poker, and gourmet lunches and dinners designed to facilitate networking.

Both economic developers and corporate executives commented that LiveXchange saved them hours of research and thousands of dollars in travel expenses, in addition to being a productive learning experience.

“[LiveXchange] was a great opportunity to learn about many different locations and regions of the U.S. in a short time frame and in a relaxed and informal atmosphere,” says Steve Valesko, director of engineering and facilities, Boar’s Head Provisions Company.

On top of being an efficient way for a company to kick off its location search, the LiveXchange event is also a great chance to learn valuable information about the site selection process from top experts via master class workshops, think-tanks, and seminars. Best of all, the event is free to qualified readers—including airfare, meals, sessions, and hotel accommodations.

“This event ended up being absolutely phenomenal for us. It opened up our eyes to many areas where we would not have looked before,” says Peter Ricca, president, Ricca Chemical Company. “I think that it is one of the best events for helping us drive our business that we have come across in many, many years.”

Plans are already underway for next year’s event. In 2007, LiveXchange will be held at the Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa in Houston, TX from September 30 to October 2.
