STANDARD FURNITURE LEASES 335,000 SF IN CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA

Alabama-based Standard Furniture has signed a five-year lease to occupy 325,650 square feet in a master planned industrial center in the City of Industry currently under development by Majestic Realty, in a transaction valued at $8 million, according to Cushman & Wakefield, which represented the furniture manufacturer in the transaction.

Under the terms of the transaction, Standard Furniture will relocate its Western U.S. warehouse and distribution center of the past five years from a smaller in the City of Industry to the Class A 775,000-square-foot warehouse building located at 108 Mayo Avenue in MajesticÕs Grand Crossing industrial center. Steelcase occupies the remaining space at what is the largest building in the 1.15 million square-foot first phase. At build-out, the 400-acre master planned industrial center near the intersection of the 60 and 57 Freeways will have nearly 6.5 million square feet of space.

Founded in 1946, Standard Furniture manufactures bedroom, dining and occasional furniture including a line under the Kathy Ireland brand for sale through department stores and independent retailers throughout the United States.

"Housing related companies such as furniture, appliance and flooring manufacturers are riding the wave of the strong housing market in California and arelooking for more warehouse and distribution space in key industrial markets," says Cushman & WakefieldÕs Robin Dodson, who along with, Erik Larson and John Minervini represented the tenant.
