STANDARD FURNITURE LEASES
335,000 SF IN CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA
Alabama-based
Standard Furniture has signed a five-year lease to occupy
325,650 square feet in a master planned industrial center
in the City of Industry currently under development
by Majestic Realty, in a transaction valued at $8 million,
according to Cushman & Wakefield, which represented
the furniture manufacturer in the transaction.
Under the terms of the transaction,
Standard Furniture will relocate its Western U.S. warehouse
and distribution center of the past five years from
a smaller in the City of Industry to the Class A 775,000-square-foot
warehouse building located at 108 Mayo Avenue in MajesticÕs
Grand Crossing industrial center. Steelcase occupies
the remaining space at what is the largest building
in the 1.15 million square-foot first phase. At build-out,
the 400-acre master planned industrial center near the
intersection of the 60 and 57 Freeways will have nearly
6.5 million square feet of space.
Founded in 1946, Standard Furniture
manufactures bedroom, dining and occasional furniture
including a line under the Kathy Ireland brand for sale
through department stores and independent retailers
throughout the United States.
"Housing related companies
such as furniture, appliance and flooring manufacturers
are riding the wave of the strong housing market in
California and arelooking for more warehouse and distribution
space in key industrial markets," says Cushman & WakefieldÕs
Robin Dodson, who along with, Erik Larson and John Minervini
represented the tenant.
